This project is located in a Tehran district that was built based on the model of upscale American suburbs. Following its main design history and regulations, this family house is built in two levels above the ground and two levels under with a Modern approach. This high-end villa is designed based on spaces with flow that communicate with one another and with back and the front Garden that is a rare found in Tehran these days.
The rectangular space has a cut in between. There is a staircase, a vertical axis that connects the ground floor to the first. This cut is the main space definer on the ground floor. It divides the ground floor into three spaces. A glass roof above that staircase brings light in to the space. All the master bedrooms are located on the first floor except from one that is at the end of the ground floor, facing the back yard.
The main aim of this project was to create a playful, colorful and eye-catching space within the simple framework of modern architecture.
In order to reach that point both functional and ornamental objects are laid through the fluid spaces. A massive wooden tree as a structural element has its roots under the ground level, the trunk grows as a column towards the first level as its branches reaches a part of the ceiling that is folded at its meeting point with the tree. The first floor has a yellow spiral staircase leading to the roof. It gives a joyful spirit to the sitting area overlooking the ground floor. A bookshelf attached to the west wall of the same sitting area, turns and goes towards the ground floor, creating a physical and visual connection between the two levels.
Every single object is selected to add to the atmosphere of the space and every space is created to hold and define that object.
